Valmiki Jayanti

I would love to write my today's blogpost on the harbinger-poet Valmiki on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti.Read this blogpost and you will learn a lot.
Valmiki is celebrated as the Harbinger-poet in Sanskrit literature. He is the author of epic Ramayana, based on the attribution in the text of epic itself.Valmiki is revered as the 'Adi Kavi',which translates to 'First Poet',for he invented sloka, which set the base and defined the form in Sanskrit poetry.
      The First Sloka:
Valmiki was going to the river Ganges for his daily ablutions.A disciple by the name Bharadvaja was carrying his clothes. On the way, they came across the Tamasa stream.Looking at the stream,Valmiki said to his disciple,"Look, how clear is this water, like the mind of a good man!I will bathe here today."When he was looking for a suitable place to step into the stream,he saw a crane couple mating.Valmiki felt very pleased on seeing the happy birds.Suddenly, hit by an arrow, the male bird died on the spot.Filled by sorrow, its mate screamed in agony and died of shock.Valmiki's heart melted at this pitiful sight. He looked around to find out who shot the bird.He saw a Hunter with a Bow and arrows.Valmiki became very angry. His lips opened and he cried out :
मां निषाद प्रतिष्ठां त्वमगमः शाश्वतीः समाः। यत्क्रौंचमिथुनादेकम् अवधीः काममोहितम्॥'
mā niṣāda pratiṣṭhāṁ tvamagamaḥ śāśvatīḥ samāḥ
yat krauñcamithunādekam avadhīḥ kāmamohitam.
It means:
You will find no rest in the long years of Eternity
For you killed a bird in love and unsuspecting.

Emerging spontaneously from Valmiki's rage and grief, this was the first sloka in Sanskrit literature.Later Valmiki muni composed the entire Ramayana with the blessings of Lord Brahma. Thus this sloka is revered as "First sloka" in Hindu literature.
His first disciples to whom he taught Ramayana were Kusa and Lava, the sons of Sri Rama.

Hope this was very interesting and informative.

Yes!You can DO IT!

Wow!Doesnt the above title seem to be very ENCOURAGING?Won't you feel Wondeful if someone tells you the above title, when you have lost faith?Won't the above title be the BEST ANSWER on Earth by someone when you have a question if you can do something?I am damn sure that the answers to all the above questions is 'YES.'
The reason for failure in life is lack of preparation, laziness, fear, etc. But the reason for continuous failure is due to lack of motivation/appreciation/encouragement.Consider two cases : Firstly,a person fails in an exam and eventually his family, friends, relatives stop talking to him due to his failure.Second case: A person fails in an exam but his parents and friends encourage him saying,'Whatever happens, happens for a reason. You CAN do it next time for sure.'
Now which person out of the two cases will have a higher probability of coming back successfully in the next attempt?I am sure that you will agree that the second person will be successful in his next attempt.Though failure would have hurt him,due to the encouragement of his parents he will feel strengthened.Hence,he will be able to achieve success in the next attempt.Whereas in the first case, the person would be depressed due to his failure and no one talking to him will demotivate him and make him even more depressed. This will affect his mental strength and might again result in a failure.Hence, encouragement is something that plays a major role in life.Just one statement can make MIRACLES Happen : Yes!You can DO IT.
I mainly wanted to stress on the point or convey a simple point that ENCOURAGING is very important and hence develop an habit of encouraging and motivating.Only when you ENCOURAGE someone,Someone will ENCOURAGE You.
The World is not that amazing that you always find someone to pat on your back and say,'You can DO IT.'So always remember that YOU always have YOU with YOU.If no one encourages you or motivates you or instills confidence,YOU must encourage yourself by saying,'Yes!You can DO IT.'
Simple example: I was done for the day and wanted to just enter into the slumber mode but I still had my blogpost to be compiled and posted.I had doubts such as,Can I complete it today? Will I be able to write one complete blogpost now? Then I myself answered,'Yes!You Can DO IT.'And here it is,a complete blogpost just because of a small encouragement by myself.Hence,Do encourage yourself whenever needed.
Yes!You Can DO IT.
Thank you for Reading.

The NEWSHOUR DEBATE-ARNAB GOSWAMI

The Newshour Debate is a Live debate anchored by Arnab Goswami, which is aired at 9pm weekdays on Indian News Channel 'Times Now.'Arnab Goswami is an Indian Journalist who is the Editor-in-chief and News Anchor of the Indian News channel 'Times Now.'A lot of information about this will be definitely available on Internet.Hence,I would like to add some of the learnings or lessons that I took out from this show.
I must say that it was a TEREFFIC evening today, mainly after watching 'The Newshour Debate.'There is a famous quote,'Don't Judge a Book by its cover.'I realised or understood the truth of this quote/saying today.I usually had a feeling that 'The Newshour Debate' is a show in which there is only argument and nothing meaningful takes place. But I watched it completely from the beginning till the end and I was taken up by surprise as the Show was completely different from what I had perceived.
A lot of argument and debate does happen in this show but each and every statement is a meaningful one.I will refer The Newshour Debate as TND hereafter.TND is such an amazing show that it helps a person understand many things that he would not have known before. If a person has no idea about a particular topic and that topic is taken up in TND,then I am sure that the person who dint have any idea will get to know a lot of things about it and he will get to know that clearly. For example,I dint know about the 'Illegal Land case of Robert Vadra.'But after watching TND,I learnt a lot of things about it and also got to know who are involved in it.
I would seriously recommend those interested or keen to develop debating skills,to please watch TND anchored by Arnab Goswami. He is just TEREFFIC.After listening to him in the show,I realised that it is very important for a person to be prepared massively about the particular topic before he gets into debating about it.The confidence in Arnab Goswami's voice clearly shows his preparation and efforts to know each and every point about whatever topic he takes up.And MOST appreciable  quality of Arnab Goswami is the way he manages everything inspite of multiple people speaking at the same time.I also learnt how important is it to be patient and also to keep calm and composed when into any kind of debate.
It seriously was a delight watching this show.

You LIVE LIFE only when you can SACRIFICE!

'Kuch pane ke liye Kuch kona padta hai.'This a very famous saying in Hindi which means.'To gain something, you need to lose something.'I am sure that all of you would agree to this quote. In single word,it refers to 'Sacrifice.'
We must sacrifice many things in our life to achieve something or to become someone.A salute to all those freedom fighters who sacrificed their LIVES to get freedom for their Nation.Hats off to those soldiers in the army who sacrifice all kinds of entertainment, keep their lives at risk and protect US by being at the Border. The Soldiers are the REAL HEROES.Just imagine,we feel so bad only if we sacrifice a movie or a mobile phone or some THING.But the Soldiers sacrifice all kinds of entertainment, they sacrifice their time or life with their families. As I have mentioned above, you need to Lose something to Gain something. So,the Soldiers sacrifice or lose the chance to enjoy with their families, friends and other kinds of entertainment. What they Gain is protection and Safeguarding of the entire country.I really feel proud for the Indian Soldiers for their COMMENDABLE work.
I am not strong minded to sacrifice the life with my family and join the Army. But I will assure/challenge/commit that I will Serve the people of my country in all the means that are possible by me.I will sacrifice certain things at certain points of time, through which I can help myself to GROW as well as help others to come up in their lives.I feel happy about myself for the sacrifices I have done in my life which has definitely led to a massive GROWTH in me as well as others.A simple example is this blogpost.I am travelling right now and luckily the bus is a sleeper coach.I can just lie down and sleep or listen to music or chat with friends, which most of the people of my age would have done at such a situation. But I sacrificed those things to compile this blogpost.Through every blogpost of mine I see a GROWTH in me.I had to sacrifice my sleep and music to get this blogpost done. So,always remember that you can GAIN something only if you LOSE something.
The reason for writing this blogpost was because I had to Sacrifice enjoyment with my family and leave to Bangalore for an important Meeting.I sacrificed or lost that enjoyment or amazing time with family but I will be able to attend the meeting tomorrow.Through this meeting,I will help myself GROW in different aspects and also this meeting is one of key things to make an event successful on 23 November. This event will make nearly 500 people to enjoy and experience something really WONDERFUL,which they might have not experienced in their life time. So,my sacrifice will lead to someone's happiness and I am really happy for that.
"NO PAIN,NO GAIN."

Happy Vijaydashmi!

Vijaydashmi also called Dasara or Dusshera is one of the most important festivals celebrated in India.Dusshera is celebrated on the tenth day of Navratri. This day marks the end of Durga Puja so people immerse the idols and go to each others' house and exchange gifts and sweets.Dusshera is celebrated for different reasons in different parts of India. It is celebrated in the north India to mark the victory of Lord Rama over the ten headed demon Ravana.Dusshera is celebrated in South India to mark the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasur.
Vijaydashmi or Dusshera is one of my favourite festivals.I relish this festival for the way it is celebrated and many more things.First of all is the Ayudha puja, which means worship of implements or weapons. In Ayudha puja we perform Puja to the weapons which helps in achieving more in life.It can be books for students,it can be vehicles for some people,it can be computers for some,it can be machines in specific companies or industries wherein Machines are the integral part of that industry.
Then comes Vijaydashmi. It is celebrated to mark the victory of Goddess Chamundi over Demon Mahishasur and also victory of Rama over ten-headed demon Ravana. So,burning of statues of Ravana is also observed in some parts of Indua on this day. Then comes the amazing part of going to each others' house and exchanging sweets and gifts. The same type of celebration happens in my native also but with a slight change. We do go to each others' house but we exchange a kind of leaves which we call bangara and byalli.Bangara means Gold and Byalli means Silver in Kannada.Everyone have bright smile on their face on this day and also after we exchange the leaves, the sweets and other delicious food is served to the visitors. When both the people exchanging the leaves are of same age, there is only exchanging followed by a hug or best wishes. But when there is a age difference, the younger one has to fall to the feet of the elder one and seek blessings from them. This is the most lovely part for me.So,before the relatives, friends, neighbours start coming to the house,we get ready and all the children exchange the leaves with the elders of the family and seek their blessings.Once it is done,we enjoy the visitors arrival. This gives a special kind of happiness to me.I love this festival because this is the only festival, other than Deepavali, wherein the whole family is present for the festival.I just enjoyed and celebrated this day with complete joy and Happiness.
Wish you all a very Happy Vijaydashmi festival.

Happy Ayudha Puja!

'Ayudha Puja' is an integral part of Navratri Festival(festival of triumph),a Hindu festival which is traditionally celebrated in India. It is also called 'Astra Puja' in some parts of India.Ayudha Puje or Astra Puje,in simple terms means,'Worship of implements or weapons.'Ayudha puja falls on the ninth day or Navami of bright half of moon's cycle of 15 days.
This is about what exactly is 'Ayudha Puja.'Now let me describe about the way we celebrated 'Ayudha puja.'And doing it in a blogpost will also help me recollect the memories of Ayudha puja.
'Ayudha puja' mainly refers to worship of weapons. So,first we had to clean our weapons.Weapons might mean different to different people but it basically refers to the things that are helping us achieve something. So the vehicles in our home, lifting machine in our new home which is under construction were the weapons to us.I took up the responsibility of washing all the motorbikes,Infact,I love doing that.By the time I was done with washing the vehicles,my mother was ready with the items to perform the puja.So the vehicles were parked in a line and lemons were placed in front of the front and back wheels of motorbikes. Then, the puja began and we all seeked the blessings of God to achieve more using these weapons.Once the puja was done, the vehicles were turned on and moved front for few meters such that the lemon gets squeezed.
The same process was repeated in our farm as well but the vehicles there were different. After the puja and after the vehicles were moved, delicious sweets were distributed to everyone present there and even the workers Next comes the most wonderful part which I have been seeing from my childhood and I feel very happy each time I see that.It is the distribution of clothes to workers along with a box of sweets.Isnt this AWESOME???I really admire dad for this.Dad could simply give them money on the occasion of festival and tell them to celebrate the festival. But dad and mom make sure that they themselves get cloth material for men and women workers respectively. And then they give it to the workers with their own hands along with a box of sweets. The most amazing part is the whole family gets the cloth material.I just love Ayudha puja and mainly this part of Ayudha puja.
So,this was the way in which we celebrated Ayudha Puja.
