I wish all Hindus a very happy Ganesh Chaturthi festival,may all your wishes come true and let your life become more prosperous from this festival.Well to those readers who dont know about this:Ganesha is a widely worshiped deity among the Hindus.Ganesha is widely revered as remover of obstacles.Ganesha is invoked at the beginning of new venture or start of travel.Ganesh chaturthi is an Hindu festival celebrated on birthday of the god Ganesha.
Ganesh chaturthi is one such festival which is celebrated with full dedication,enjoyment,energy,spirit,happiness etc.Ganesh chaturthi is celebrated all over India,in Nepal and by Hindus in United states,Canada,Mauritius,Singapore,Thailand etc.It is most elaborate and widely celebrated in Mumbai city of Maharastra.The date of festival usually falls between 19August and 20Septemner.The festival lasts for 10 or 12 days starting on Shukla chaturthi(fourth day of waxing moon) and ends on anant chaturdashi.
This year today is Ganesh chaturthi and it feels great when this festival is celebrated.Everyone will be so happy and spirited with full celebrations.Ganesha statues of different kinds are made by skilled artisans and kept for sale from few days or weeks before the festival.These statues are installed in homes or in pandals in every locality.They are placed either on the day of festival or few days after it,it is kept for one day,three days,five days,seven days etc.After that it is returned to Earth by immersing it in nearby water body.In Bangalore,it is celebrated very well.Being a bangalorean I enjoyed and celebrated the festival to my fullest.
