Ganesh Visarjan :-):-)

Ganesh Visarjan is a activity performed during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. This festival is celebrated on the birthday of God Ganesha.During this festival, there is tradition followed in which different kinds of idols of Ganesha are installed in homes with decorations or in pandals in every locality. It is usually kept for few days, after which it is immersed in the nearby water body. The immersion is preceded by a wonderful procession with music, dance, enjoyment and distributing of prasadas(any kind of sweet or dish prepared,to be served to people after performing the rituals) to everyone. This is called as Ganesh Visarjan.
Being a Hindu and a true believer of God Ganesha,we had placed Ganesha in pandal in an open site of ours.We usually used to do it on roads, but the police had not granted the permission this year due to some problems. As a result we decided to do it in our site which is adjacent to the house we are currently staying in.People keep Ganesha for different number of days,we had planned it for three days.So today being the third day it was time for Ganesh Visarjan in the evening.
Ganesh Visarjan is preceded by music and dance. We had arranged for Tamte(sounds produced by drums which thrills anyone to dance)from Andhra Pradesh. It was really great fun, dancing after so many days from heart with complete joy and celebration. After procession of
Ganesha inside the locality,it was time for Ganesh Visarjan and we had planned to immerse it in a nearby water body called Sankey Tank.As soon as we left to Sankey Tank after the procession,it started to rain.Thankfully there were umbrella to provide shelter for Ganesha as it would melt due to water, since its made of clay or plaster of paris.
Finally we reached and could do the Visarjan properly.Overall it was an awesome experience throughout these three days.
